Mt Mansfield is Vermont's Highest Peak. It's ridge is over 1.2 miles long, mostly above tree line, offering wonderful vistas at ever turn. The Long Trail, which traverses the spine of VT's Green Mountains, runs across the entire ridge.
At high altitude, moss and lichen form interesting patterns on the various mountain rocks. There is also a variety of grasses, leaves, pine trees and more along the ridge. The interplay of plant life and mountain bedrock inspired this one of a kind Visual Quilt.
